Rhodes College Singers to Perform at Church of the Holy Spirit in Stamford

STAMFORD — Rhodes College Singers will perform in concert at The Church of the Holy Spirit Stamford on Thursday May 25, 2017 at 7:00PM. Admission is free and the concert is open to the public.

“We are most blessed and privileged to have this elite group sing for us here at Holy Spirit! All are welcome to share in this beautiful concert,” said Msgr. Kevin Royal, pastor.

The 43-member choir from Memphis, Tennessee is renowned for performing a variety of small-form choral works, in genres from virtually all style periods.

The program at the Church of the Holy Spirit will include works by Holst, Gjeilo, Childs, Mealor, Runestadt, Takach, and Hogan.

Conductor Dr. William Skoog, will lead the Rhodes Singers, with Jane Gamble accompanying on piano and organ.

Rhodes Singers, founded in 1937, perform many concerts annually, touring both internationally and across the United States.

Rhodes Singers have established a tradition of choral excellence throughout the region. This choir focuses on smaller choral works often from the unaccompanied choral tradition.

Membership in Rhodes Singers is based upon an audition.
