Saint Catherine of Siena Students Prepare for Palm Sunday and Holy Week

Trumbull CT – April 5, 2017. Living their faith through service to others is important to the students of Saint Catherine of Siena School, and they share their gifts and talents willingly.

Today, the 7th and 8th grade school students are playing an important part in Palm Sunday preparations at The Parish of Saint Catherine of Siena. Palms are distributed at all Masses during Palm Sunday weekend (Saturday, April 8th at 4:00 pm. and 7:15 pm and Sunday, April 9th at 7:30 am, 9:00 am, 10:30 am, and 12:00 pm) to commemorate Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem.

When the palms arrive, they need to be cut from their stocks, trimmed & sorted. Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week, the most consequential week of the year. The week marks the events of Jesus’ life from the Last Supper, to his condemnation to death, his death on the cross, and ultimately his resurrection on Easter Sunday.
