Bishop Caggiano: A Reflection of Gratitude

BRIDGEPORT—“My dear friends in Christ. It has been five years since the Holy Father gave me the great privilege of being your shepherd and serving as Bishop of Bridgeport. These have been years of great blessings for me, as you and I have made progress in working together and moving the diocese forward,” says Bishop Frank J. Caggiano at the beginning of this new video, “A Reflection of Gratitude.”

“As I look back, my heart is filled with gratitude. We have done much together and we have much to celebrate.”

However, in this brief reflection, the Bishop is also very much looking forward as he approaches the completion of his fifth year as Bishop.

In addition to expressing his deep gratitude, Bishop Caggiano issues a challenge to us: it’s time to move forward, to evangelize, to accompany others in their journey of faith in the spirit of Pope Francis, and to renew the Church for next generation.

Please join the Bishop in taking a quick look at all that has been accomplished by working together in the effort to renew the diocese spiritually and operationally.

In particular, the Bishop talks about the “Fruits of the Synod,” which are now at work throughout the diocese in programs such as the Catholic Service Corps, the Diocesan Youth Choir, the work to re-imagine Faith Formation, the support for Catholic education, and the ongoing planning to make our parishes more welcoming communities that bring all to Christ, “one person at a time.”
