Bishop to Host Facebook Live Town Hall Meeting

BRIDGEPORT—Bishop Frank Caggiano will host a virtual Town Hall Meeting tomorrow on Wednesday, May 31st at 12:30 pm. The meeting will take place on the Bishop’s Facebook page (Bishop Frank J. Caggiano), airing on Facebook Live.

The Bishop’s Town Hall Meeting will be the second in a series of Town Hall Meetings hosted this Spring. The first meeting featured panelists Patrick Donovan, director of the Leadership Institute, Patrick Turner, director of Strategic and Pastoral Planning, and Pam Rittman, director of the Annual Catholic Appeal. Next Month will feature a Town Hall Meeting for the Diocesan Catholic Schools.

John Grosso, director of Social Media, will host the discussion with Bishop Caggiano, who will answer questions for about 20 minutes.

“I am very much looking forward to hearing from our faithful, and I will do my best to answer as many questions as I can,” said Bishop Caggiano.

Questions can be summited beforehand on either Bishop Frank’s Facebook, or the Diocesan Facebook. Questions can even be emailed in to TownHallMeeting@diobpt.org.

“I would encourage people to submit their questions beforehand. We anticipate a lot of demand for this meeting, and we will answer questions in the order they came in. Of course we will take 2 or 3 questions from those who watch live, so be sure to tune in!” Grosso said.

The hope is that the Town Hall Meeting will help connect parishioners with Bishop Frank, and allow them to ask questions they might not have the opportunity to ask during his visits throughout the Diocese.

“We’ve received about 15 questions so far,” Grosso said, “ranging from very theological, to very personal. One person even asked what Bishop Frank does in his very limited free time. I’d be interested to hear an answer to that myself!”

(If people are unable to participate in the live stream, they can submit questions in advance, either by direct message on the diocesan Facebook, or by emailing TownHallMeeting@diobpt.org.)
