SOUTH NORWALK—On Sunday, May 1, several hundred parishioners joined Bishop Frank J. Caggiano at South Norwalk’s St. Joseph and St. Ladislaus Parish for the Official Blessing and Inauguration of a newly built Chapel in honor of St. José Sánchez del Río (St. Joselito).
St. José Sánchez del Río was a child-martyr from Mexico’s “Cristero Wars” who was put to death at age 14 because he refused to renounce his Catholic faith. He was canonized by Pope Francis as a Saint of the Roman Catholic Church on October 16, 2016.
Bishop Caggiano dedicated the beautiful place of worship and blessed all of the children present during this special occasion. He invited them and everyone who follows Christ to “offer everything back to Him” as He did for us, and reminded them that “the only way we can live our life is by doing it the way Jesus asks. Every part of our life.”
