Catholic Bridge promises professional, spiritual growth

BRIDGEPORT- The Diocese of Bridgeport has begun a mentorship program named The Catholic Bridge. The program connects Catholic professionals in Fairfield County with Young Adult parishioners seeking life and career guidance. Through this program, volunteer mentors from parishes across the Diocese serve as both guide and resource for their Young Adult mentees as they plan for their future.

A product of Bishop Caggiano’s Call to Renewal, the The Catholic Bridge aims to reengage young adults and foster relationships in which the mentors can share their skills and experiences to help their Young Adult mentees with their professional and life goals.

Bishop Caggiano announced the launch of the program by championing its Pilot program that launched last fall. “This is initiative is a tremendous opportunity for young people across our diocese to take advantage of one of the best resources of our diocese: our people. Our diocese is full of talented and dedicated professionals that are eager to give back and share their knowledge and connections with these young men and women.”

If you or someone you know is interested in joining this program, please visit www.FormationReimagined.org/bridge.

Mentors are asked to meet with their mentees once per month over six months and do not need to have any prior mentoring experience. Meetings can take place over Zoom or in person. Through scheduled meetings and meaningful conversations they can explore topics such as personal development, job and career planning, identifying professional goals, and the importance of building networks all while exemplifying what it means to be a Catholic.

Mentees are also being recruited throughout the diocese. Anyone over the age of 18 is encouraged to apply. For more information, please contact Cindy Egloff, coordinator of the Catholic Bridge at CEgloff@diobpt.org.
