BRIDGEPORT— 2017 was a remarkable year for the Diocese of Bridgeport. In this “Top Ten” countdown, social media leader John Grosso shares some of the top stories from a year that saw the diocese grow in faith and in opportunities to serve, to worship and to evangelize.
From the launch of the new Leadership Institute and the Face of Prayer campaign to the diocesan pilgrimage to the National Basilica Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C., people throughout the diocese followed the call of Bishop Frank Caggiano for prayer and renewal.

Number 10 As 2017 winds down, we begin our annual social media tradition of counting down our Top 10 Moments! First up, is number 10, our Synod Final Session! In April, our Synod Delegates gathered one final time to discuss the progress we made since 2014, and the road ahead. |

Number 9 Choir for Youth – C4Y Concerts! C4Y sang in two breathtaking concerts this year. The first, on Divine Mercy Sunday, was a powerful celebration of the Easter Season. More recently, in December, the choir performed their annual Christmas Concert to a huge crowd! |

Number 8 Our trip to National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC) and the launch of The Face of Prayer 2.0! It was a weekend of many graces in Indianapolis! 22 young people from our Diocese encounter 22,000 of their closest friends, and Bishop Frank J. Caggiano shared with all present his vision for the Face of Prayer Campaign! |

Number 7 Catholic Service Corps 2.0! This year, the Catholic Service Corps was quite busy! A new Coordinator was hired, 30,000 meals were packed for Burkina Faso, the Corps began their first ever Diocesan Service Challenge, they revamped their website and social media, worked with Catholic charities and much, much more. Number 6 Make It or Break It DOB! This retreat, offered for the first time this summer for recent high school graduates before they head to college, was the brainchild of several young adults in our Diocese! We can’t wait for next year’s retreat! |

Number 5 Our trip to Ethiopia and Lebanon! What more can we say about this life changing trip that we were fortunate enough to journey on with Catholic Relief Services and Turning Wine Into H2O? Several Priests, including our Vicar General, saw the amazing projects that CRS is working on in the country. Pray for the people of Ethiopia and Lebanon! |

Number 3 The Launch of Formation Reimagined! What a year it has been for the Leadership Institute! After launching in January, the Institute has organized many events throughout the year including a Couple’s Night, Meetings with Catechists and more! |
