St. Peter Cemetery provides a peaceful respite from the speed, sound and snarl of I-84. Located in the northwest corner of Danbury, Connecticut next to Lake Kenosia, St. Peter Cemetery is the final resting place for thousands of friends, neighbors, and family members from the greater northern Fairfield County area.

Over 110 acres of level, tree-lined roads, the cemetery is a popular walking area with area residents. Popular areas include the Priest’s Circle where local deceased clergy are interred and the Hull Monument, a 40-grave lot marked with a massive obelisk.

Famous People Buried at St. Peter Cemetery

Lee Ross Hartell received the Congressional Medal of Honor for his actions during the Korean War where he was mortally wounded protecting his comrades from an enemy attack. On a lighter note, Peter Buck a nuclear physicist by trade, co-founded the “Pete’s Super Submarines” restaurant with partner Fred De Luca in 1965 which grew to become the Subway Sandwich chain.
