Diocesan Youth Rally Saturday in Trumbull

TRUMBULL—Almost 200 young people throughout the Diocese are expected to attend Saturday’s “Fan the Fire” youth rally at St. Joseph High School in Trumbull.

Fan the Fire is a day of prayer, fun and inspiration for young people in grades 8 thru 12. It will run from 9 am to 9 pm, says Evan Psencik, coordinator of youth and young adults programs.

Highlights of the day will include a keynote talk from Bishop Frank Caggiano, while Dom Quaglia, a nationally known Catholic speaker and former LifeTeen youth minister will speak in the afternoon session.

Young people will also join in a service project, and the diocesan youth choir will sing at the closing Mass.

The program also includes uplifting worship music led by Catholic artist Sarah Kroger, opportunities for reconciliation, breakout and reflection sessions, and a Eucharistic focus with Adoration and Mass.

Jessica Nayden, newly named coordinator of the Catholic Service Corps, said the day will include a Catholic Relief Service project called CRS “Helping Hands,” which will have young people packing food to be shipped over seas.

Fan the Fire is sponsored by the Faith Formation Office and the diocesan Leadership Institute. For information visit http://www.dob-youth.com/fan-the-fire-youth-rally/.
