Youth Formation

The Office of Youth Formation exists to advocate and assist parishes and youth ministry leaders in the formation of young people. Guided by the USCCB Document “Renewing the Vision”, we form parish youth ministry leaders to offer a comprehensive youth ministry program to, with, by, and for young people. We advocate for the needs of young people at all levels. We provide young people leadership formation, social justice formation, as well as experiences of large Church gatherings in Diocesan, regional, national and international settings.

Our Goals

Parish Support

  • Advocate for the inclusion of young people in all aspects of parish life
  • Assist pastors in the hiring of youth ministry leaders
  • Keep pastors up to date on latest trends, news and events in youth ministry

 Adult Formation

  • Form parish youth ministry leaders to offer comprehensive youth ministry programs
  • Support youth ministry leaders in their ministry
  • Resource youth ministry leaders with the best and most up to date materials
  • Gather youth ministry leaders together to share in ministry

Youth Formation

  • Provide opportunities for young people to encounter Jesus Christ
  • Accompany young people on their journey of faith
  • Teach young people the necessary discipleship skills
  • Empower young people to live out their lives as faithful disciples of Jesus Christ

High School Apostles

HSAHigh School Apostles is a community of high school teens who want to respond to the Lord’s call to be saints with heroic spirits. Our goal is to make a real difference in the world by striving to be holy and aiming to build up everything in Christ. As apostles, we live the spirituality of Mary.

Convivio is a weekend high school congress where students from grades 9 through 12 come together to reflect upon contemporary society, to share their experiences, thoughts, interests, and to propose explanations  and answers to the problems and challenges that we experience in today’s world.

The weekend is designed for young people to get to know others in Christ. Throughout the weekend there are group discussions, talks, videos, games, skits, music and more. There is also the opportunity to partake in Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, and the Sacrament of Reconciliation. It is a fun-filled weekend not to be missed!
