WHAT IS THE MISSION OF THE GUILD OF THE MOST BLESSED SACRAMENT?

The Guild of the Most Blessed Sacrament exists to deepen the personal holiness of each member by

  • fostering a Eucharistic Spirituality by deepening reverence for the Blessed Sacrament through prayer and adoration
  • fostering ongoing spiritual renewal and fraternal bonds among its members
  • deepening spiritual communion among priests, among deacons and their spouses, and among the lay faithful within the Diocese of Bridgeport
  • soliciting from its members works of charity and specific acts of reparation for the sins — past and present — committed against the Sacred Heart of Jesus
  • bringing life, knowledge, love and reverence of the Blessed Sacrament to the secular world, especially to those Catholics who struggle with belief in the Real Presence

WHAT DOES BEING A GUILD MEMBER ENTAIL?

The six spiritual requirements of each Guild member are:

  • To pray the Guild prayer each day
  • To attend the Annual Guild Mass for the healthcare community, wherein the members of the Guild will renew their commitment to the Guild’s mission
  • To engage in acts of spiritual and corporal works of mercy as personal circumstances allow
  • Attend the annual formational gathering
  • Attend periodic gatherings for prayer and reflection
  • Attend the annual one day retreat
