IHS participates in EaglemuncX in Boston, Mass.

DANBURY—Seven delegates from Immaculate High School participated in EagleMUNC X in Boston, Massachusetts from April 1-3 alongside schools from throughout New England. This three-day Model United Nations Conference’s theme was Overcoming Adversity Through Innovation and participants were immersed in a 40-hour simulation which ensured all students remained in character for the duration of the conference.

Through debate and negotiations Immaculate delegates junior Julia Babcock(Ridgefield), senior Allie Bellone(Redding), senior Chloe Bellone(Redding), freshman Charles Doran(Danbury), senior William Doran(Danbury), senior Jesse Hanniger(New Fairfield), and freshman Ava Heineken(Brookfield) were able to find resolutions to world problems with fellow students representing over 26 schools throughout the nation. While staying in character, each delegate represented the best interests of their role within the global community and engaged in diplomacy and cooperation with others in order to closely emulate the manner in which politics and decision-making takes place in the real world.

The highlight of the conference was keynote speaker, Mr. Bruno Donat who serves as Chief of the Geneva Office of the United Nations Mine Action Service within the Office of the Rule of Law and Security Institutions at the Department of Peace Operations.

Immaculate was excited to return to an in-person Model UN conference after two years and looks forward to bringing back the tradition of an annual trip.” shared Wendy Neil, principal.

EagleMUNC’s mission is to commit to the advancement of a globally-conscious society through experiential education, a collaborative community, and forward thought.
