Assistant Teacher (Preschool) – Full-Time, Full-Year
Qualified Early Childhood Educators: We’re Looking for You!
Room To Grow (RTG), a state-licensed and NAEYC-accredited preschool program of Catholic Charities, is seeking a full-time (40 hrs./week), benefits-eligible Assistant Teacher to join our team immediately. RTG provides high-quality early childhood education and care for children ages 3–5 in Norwalk, Connecticut.

Required Educational Qualifications
• Must have an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or Human Development, OR
• Must have an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field plus at least 12 college credits in Early Childhood Education or Child Development
Experience Requirements
• Minimum of two years of experience in a licensed preschool, child care center, or comparable early childhood setting serving children ages 3–5.
• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices.
• Familiarity with Connecticut Early Learning and Development Standards (CT ELDS), NAEYC standards, and Connecticut OEC/DPH licensing requirements preferred.
• Commitment to ongoing professional growth and education.
Key Responsibilities
• Support the Lead Teacher in planning, implementing, and evaluating engaging learning experiences for preschool-aged children.
• Foster children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
• Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
• Build positive relationships with children and families.
• Adhere to all program policies, accreditation standards, and state licensing regulations.
