Catholic Charities of Fairfield County is seeking a Development Officer for its Stamford, CT location. Reporting to the Director of Philanthropy and working daily with the Directors of the Stamford Family Center and the New Covenant Center, this hybrid, full-time, benefits-eligible position is responsible for focusing on promoting the Catholic Charities Stamford Family Center (CCSFC) and New Covenant Center (NCC) brands through community partners, civic organizations, corporations, private foundations, religious organizations and families/individuals. The Development Officer is a highly self-motivated individual responsible for maintaining and implementing strategies that ensure sustainability and organizational growth as they relate to NCC’s fundraising operations. This individual will work closely with the Director of New Covenant Center, its Advisory Board and Chairperson, and Catholic Charities’ Director of Philanthropy, in seeking new opportunities with organizations in an effort to cultivate a larger donor base to further expand NCC/SFC programs. This position will require occasional evening and weekend work.
Accountabilities:

Work with CCSFC Director and Advisory Council to sell sponsorships and tickets to the annual Summer Soiree fundraiser.

Work with CCSFC Director and the Advisory Council on the Annual Holiday Appeal and any other appeal or fundraising initiative throughout the year.

Maintain relationships with current top-tier donors and cultivate/develop potential new individual and corporate prospects.

Assist in creating and managing an annual development outreach strategy to the top 50-100 donors followed by overall Raiser’s Edge donor base.

Through community outreach and cultivation, secure additional donor dollars from new markets.

Oversee the solicitation of both existing private and government grants, as well as researching new opportunities to apply for grants.

Conduct market analysis and research to identify development trends.

Attend fundraising and development training webinars.

Participate in cross-training within all operational areas of the organization.

Participate in weekly meetings with the Philanthropy group in Shelton, CT.

Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:

College degree required.

Experience in non-profit development and fundraising track record preferred, or similar sales/development experience in the private sector.

Networking experience with corporate, civic, religious, or other groups.

Database management experience.

Experience building partnerships with external constituencies.
Skills and Abilities:

Detailed oriented, able to multi-task, self-motivated

Comfortable speaking in front of/presenting to large groups

Excellent communication and time management skills

Customer focused and oriented

Strong verbal and written presentation experience and knowledge

Good strategic, analytical, and tactical skills in promoting/selling programs

Able to adapt to changing priorities and working under pressure

Maintain and grow positive relationships with donors and be accountable and collaborative with team members.

Self-starter; able to work independently

Proficient in the use of Office 365, Raiser’s Edge, and established technology platforms.

Maintain compliance; ensure privacy and confidentiality with sensitive data.
This position will also be committed to the mission, goals and objectives of Catholic Charities and the New Covenant Center and understand and appreciate the challenges of the underserved and disadvantaged population.
Salary will be determined based on experience and qualifications.
