Position Overview

• Part-time position
• Salary commensurate with experience
• Seeking a professional While the candidate is not required to be a practicing Roman Catholic, familiarity with the Roman Catholic service and liturgical traditions is important.

Primary Responsibilities Liturgical Music

• Play organ/piano for all weekend Masses:
  • Saturday: 4:30 PM
  • Sunday: 8:30 AM and 11:00 AM
• Play for all Holy Days of Obligation
• Play for weddings and funerals *separate remuneration as set by agreement between musician and pastor
• Coordinate music for special liturgical services as needed

Vocal Participation

• A soloist currently sings at all three weekend Masses, Holy Days, weddings, and Soloist arranged for substitute when she is not available.
• Singing by the organist is not required, but may be helpful

Choir Leadership – Currently no active choirs.

• Recruit members of the congregation for:
  • Adult choir
  • Children’s choir
• Re-establish choirs to participate in one weekly service (September-June)
• Determine and schedule choir rehearsal times, as needed
• Plan the music program+ select the choral music for the liturgical
• Rehearse/prepare the choir for the planned

Planning & Collaboration

• Attend Liturgy Committee meetings* 1 hour 1x a month
• Participate in discussions related to:
  • Liturgy planning
  • Pageants, Plays
  • Special parish events

Facilities & Instruments

• Church organ:
  • Currently a 2-manual Allen organ
  • Scheduled to be replaced with a larger instrument *soon*!
  • New Instrument: new organ will be from ‘Meta Organworks’ consisting 5 manual with approximately 20 organ sample sets Consider samples such as French, German Baroque, Spanish, Aeolian-Skinner, Casavant, etc.
• Chapel:
  • Electronic piano (Clavinova) in good working order
• Music room:
  • Located behind the chapel
  • Direct access from the church
• Parish Hall:
  • Connected to the church, Includes a stage and an upright piano

Additional Opportunities
