New Covenant Center Spring Newsletter

STAMFORD—What a “swing to spring” the months of March and April were for New Covenant Center! We went from snow days to sunny days—all in a just a few weeks. Also within just a few weeks, New Covenant Center hosted two very different fundraisers. One that required blazers and ties—another other that required spandex and sneakers!

At our Celebrity Breakfast the keynote speaker Jeff Fager, Executive Director of CBS’ 60 Minutes, entertained us with stories over the show’s 50 years. Fager also wove together the common thread of public service that both 60 Minutes and New Covenant Center provide their viewers and guests, respectively.

We were thrilled to honor Randy Salvatore, Chairman of Stamford-based RMS Companies, with the third annual “Founder’s Award” for his contribution of pro bono construction management services during the building of NCC’s new facility in 2015.

Now on to our 5th Annual Zumba event! This year 130+ people danced away PLUS donated 700 items for our Food Pantry.  Created and organized by NCCenter Advisory Council member Jose Rivera and his family, the event attracted many young people who came out for an afternoon of fun and fitness. In this our 40th anniversary year, we are reaching out to the younger generation, encapsulated in our slogan: “From Generation to Generation–Serving at New Covenant.”

Many thanks to our sponsors, donors, volunteers, attendees, staff and event committees for making this April a month to be so very thankful for.
