FAIRFIELD—Holy Cross Church, at 750 Tahmore Drive, across from Lake Mohegan, Fairfield is having its annual picnic starting with a Polka Mass at 11 am on Sunday September 10. Live entertainment by the Polka Quads of Pennsylvania will start at Noon and run throughout the day.
Slovenian & American foods prepared by the parishioners. Pig & Lamb Roast (Roasted right on the grounds of the church by the parishioners) Dinners, Stuffed Cabbage, Cabbage & Noodles Cevapcici (little ethnic sausages), Hot Dogs, Hamburgers Roast Beef Sandwiches, Kielbasi & Sauerkraut Sandwiches, and Liver, Bacon & Onions. Beverages include Cold Beer, Wine & Sodas. Specialty Desserts Apple Strudel, Palacinkas (Filled Crepes) and many more baked goods made by the ladies of the parish.
