TRUMBULL— The Social Justice and Charitable Outreach Team at St. Catherine of Siena Parish, led by Eric Vogen and in conjunction with Knights of Columbus Council #5806, held its annual Thanksgiving Food Drive. They set records again this year!
“Once again, parishioners demonstrated their wonderful spirit of generosity and charity during the Thanksgiving Food Drive,” said Vogen.
One hundred and fifty individually boxed “meal kits” were delivered to three Bridgeport parishes (Blessed Sacrament, St. Charles, St. Mary), with an incredible quantity and variety of supplementary food items to Trumbull Food Bank and the Convent of Mary Immaculate, as well as those parishes.
Twenty Turkeys will be delivered to the Convent by the Knights of Council #5806. Additionally, more than $1,500 was contributed to the Bridgeport faith communities to further assist with food needs.
Special thanks to all who volunteered with sorting and delivery—and to parishioner Ross Bacarella of BTX Global Logistics who donated the 150 boxes!
