St. Joseph High School Hosts NCAA Signing Day Ceremony

February 13, 2018—TRUMBULL, CT—St Joseph High School, striving to be Southern Connecticut’s premier college preparatory school, hosted an athletic Signing Day Ceremony on the school’s campus on Tuesday, February 13.

Five senior students signed either National Letters of Intent or Commitment Letters for their prospective colleges, in front of a group of St Joes staff, family, friends, and community. The following students signed:

  • Tory Bike – Soccer – University Rhode Island, Div I, National Letter of Intent
  • Mike DiIorio – Football – Pace University, Div II, National Letter of Intent
  • Bridget Fatse – Volleyball – Connecticut College, Div III, Commitment Letter
  • Alexis Mason – Soccer – Fairfield University, Div I, Commitment Letter
  • Veronica O’Rourke – Soccer – Connecticut College, Div III, Commitment Letter

The National Letter of Intent (NLI) is a document used to indicate a student athlete’s commitment to participating in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) colleges and universities in the United States. The National Letter of Intent is a binding agreement between a prospective student-athlete and an NLI member institution. Prospective student-athletes agree to attend the institution full-time for one academic year (two semesters or three quarters). The institution agrees to provide athletes financial aid for one academic year (two semesters or three quarters).

The Commitment Letter is a standard, NCAA provided, non-binding celebratory signing form. A college-bound student-athlete is permitted to sign the celebratory signing form after the student-athlete has been accepted to the institution.

St Joseph High School is proud of each and every one of these student athletes and the entire administration wishes them the greatest of luck in their future athletic careers.
