BRIDGEPORT—On the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, the community of St. Mary in Bridgeport built a carpet with acérrin and flowers in front of the church. Parishioners from Guatemala, Mexico, Peru and Colombia helped to create the carpet. This custom originates in Guatemala but parishioners at St. Mary’s wanted to give thanks to the Lord in a special way for his love and the Eucharist!

En la Solemnidad del Cuerpo y la Sangre de Nuestro Señor Jesucristo, la comunidad de la parroquia St. Mary en Bridgeport construyó una alfombra con acerrin y flores frente a la iglesia. Algunos feligreses de Guatemala, México, Perú y Colombia ayudaron a crear la alfombra. Esta es una tradición que es original de Guatemala, pero los feligreses de St. Mary’s querían agradecer al Señor de una manera especial por su amor y por la Sagrada Eucaristía.
