NORWALK—Knights of Columbus St. Matthew Council 14360 is excited to announce plans for its 9th annual St. Patrick’s Day Fundraiser dinner! The annual St. Patrick’s Day dinner is the council’s oldest tradition. Starting from just 81 people in 2010, the dinner has become an annual tradition at St. Matthew Parish.
This year’s dinner will be held in the Masterpool Great Room of St. Matthew Church on Saturday, March 10, right after the 4:00pm Mass! (around 5pm) A delicious menu, highlighted by some of the tastiest corned beef you’ll ever eat, will be served. In addition, there will be many terrific raffle prizes available. In addition, entertainment of Irish Step Dancing will be provided by the children at the Mulkerin School of Irish Dance.
Each year, the council’s St. Patrick’s Day event proves to be a very popular and successful one, with over 200 guests typically attending. Over the eight years the dinner has been held, Council 14360 has raised thousands of dollars for charity, money that goes directly to the many local organizations it supports, such as: Malta House, Notre Dame Health and Rehabilitation Center, Homes for the Brave, Fisher House CT, Our Lady of Solace in Coney Island NY, All Saints Catholic School, Star Inc., Al’s Angels, St. Matthew Church, the Diocese of Bridgeport—Respect Life Ministry & Family and Children’s Agency-Norwalk. The money raised also helps with supplying coats for Norwalk children for the Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids Initiative.
The council will present a check to Homes for the Brave in Bridgeport from the proceeds of the council’s Sword & Shield Charity Golf Tournament held last June.
