Superintendent Steve Cheeseman’s Letter to Teachers to Begin the School Year

Dear Colleagues in Ministry,

As we begin this new school year I just want to take a moment to thank all of you for the work you do for the young people who attend our Catholic Schools. Each day, I am inspired by the work you do, individually and collectively, to ensure that the children who have been placed in our care are educated in school communities that understand that God’s promise for the future rests in our hands as we shape the next generation of the faithful and that strive to recognize the dignity, uniqueness and beauty of every child.

Each of you, whether you work each day at a school or in the Catholic Center, play a part in the success of our schools. Together, you make the system work. I know things don’t always go as planned. It is not always easy work, but I truly believe it is always holy work. As Superintendent, I am extremely grateful for you and blessed to be able to work with you.

As the new year begins, let us continue to work together, lean on each other and pray for each other.

Please be assured of my prayers for you as we start this year as I ask Our Lady to shower her blessings on you and on the work we do for the young people of the Diocese.

Steve
