Trinity Catholic’s Anderson Signs Letter of Intent to Play College Football at Franklin Pierce College

STAMFORD— Anthony Anderson, four-year standout football player at Trinity Catholic, has signed a Letter of Intent to play collegiate football at D-2 school, Franklin Pierce University, Trinity Catholic High School announced today.

Anthony was joined by over a dozen teammates, family, his football coach Donny Panapada and others recently at a signing ceremony held at Trinity Catholic. Anthony is the third athlete from Trinity signing to play on a collegiate level next year. In December, standout forward I’Yanna Lops of the recently named Connecticut State Champion Girls’ Basketball team signed to play at Cal State- Bakersfield in California. Senior Keri Gallagher signed to play college soccer at Lynchburg University.

On hand for the signing, former Triunity Head Coach Donny Panapada, himself a supportive alumnus of Trinity Catholic, had this to say about his star player: “Anthony is a perfect example of a Crusader student-athlete. He has worked very hard in the classroom and on the field to become a great leader that understands the importance of Faith and Family.” Donny adds: “Trinity’s tradition is built on kids like Anthony Anderson and I’m very proud to have had the opportunity to coach him.”

At Trinity, Anderson played both ways, as a wide-receiver on offense and defensive back. He played all four years at Trinity and was Captain this past season, his senior year. Anthony compiled career stats of 48 receptions, 645 yards and 10 touchdowns.
