St. Paul Guild for Evangelical Outreach
The St. Paul Guild for Evangelical Outreach is a community and association of the faithful who have devoted themselves to the ministry of evangelical outreach and spiritual renewal of the faithful in the Diocese of Bridgeport through a process of encounter with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and mutual accompaniment.
Our Mission
The St. Paul Guild exists to deepen the personal holiness of each initiated member who have chosen to exercise the ministry of evangelical outreach on a diocesan-wide basis, to grow in Christian discipleship so as to serve as “diocesan ambassadors” in various ministries throughout the Diocese as well as to train its members to assist others who also engage in the ministry of evangelical outreach on a parish or school level but are not members of the Guild.
Read Our StatutesSt. Paul Guild Prayer
Lord Jesus,
To Your Most Sacred Heart I consecrate my entire life, actions, trials, joys, and sufferings, only so that I may love, honor and glori fy You in all I do.
Help me, O Heart of Jesus, to desire to belong entirely to You and to renounce whatever displeases You; help me to remember that You are full of goodness and mercy toward the repentant sinner; and help me to make You the sole object of my love, the protection of my life, the pledge of my salvation, the remedy of my weakness, and the secure refuge at the hour of my death.
May the Blessed Virgin Mary, who formed Your Most Sacred Heart in Her womb and to whose Immaculate Heart I turn, offer You this act of consecration.
May Your Heart always look favorably upon the Bishop, the priests and deacons, consecrated men and women, lay faithful and all men and women of good will in the Diocese of Bridgeport so that we may become more and more like You.
O Immaculate Heart of Mary, most perfect image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, make our hearts like unto His Heart.
V. O Sacred Heart of Jesus , burning with love for me.
R. Inflame my heart with.

Spiritual Requirements of Guild Members
Being a member of the Saint Paul Guild means bringing Christ to the world and in a way they will receive Him. Guild members, known as “Diocesan Ambassadors” will participate in one of five ministries in which they will be trained and then sent out on mission by His Excellency, the Bishop of Bridgeport.
Each Guild member is expected to prayer the Guild Prayer daily; attend the annual Guild Retreat & Guild Mass; attend two annual formation evenings which includes dinner; and to attend periodic, open Guild gatherings as their schedule permits.
What is Aspirancy?
Aspirancy is a period of time whereas a non-Guild member will discern God’s call to join the Saint Paul Guild. Those who aspire to join the Guild but are not ready to enter will be invited to attend all Guild events, even those designed for initiated members, until they make a final decision on Guild membership.
What does Aspirancy entail?
- Meeting with the Diocesan Guild Director
- Formation Opportunities
