Holy Family – St. Emery Parish to Merge with Assumption Parish (Fairfield), St. Peter Parish and St. Ann Parish

The Diocese of Bridgeport has announced that in the interest of sustaining vibrant communities of faith, the Parish of Holy Family- Saint Emery will merge into three neighboring parishes: Assumption Parish, St. Ann Parish and Saint Peter Parish. All sacramental records from the Parish of Holy Family and Saint Emery will be preserved and safeguarded at the Diocesan Chancery.

This merger will take effect on the Solemnity of All Saints, November 1, 2025. Following that, regular weekday and Sunday worship at Holy Family will continue until the Solemnity of Epiphany, Sunday, January 4, 2026. After this date, the church will remain available for funerals and special occasions, with families arranging for a celebrant and musicians.

“I am deeply grateful for the faithful witness of the parishioners of Holy Family–St. Emery. As they join their brothers and sisters at Assumption, St. Ann, and St. Peter, I am confident that they will continue to enrich our diocesan family,” said Bishop Frank Caggiano.  “In every transition, Christ reminds us that His Church is alive and ever-growing. The faithful of Holy Family–St. Emery will find a warm welcome in their new parish homes, and together we will continue to expand Christ’s Church and build up communities of hope, worship, and love,”
