Office of Multicultural Ministry
The Diocese of Bridgeport is home to Catholics of many different language and cultural traditions. On Sunday, Mass is celebrated in up to nine different languages throughout Fairfield County. The Office of Multicultural Ministry ensures the diocese is effectively ministering to these communities in a culturally competent way.
The Diocese of Bridgeport is home to prominent Spanish-speaking, Haitian, Black, Brazilian, Vietnamese and Filipino communities, each under the supervision of an episcopal vicar. The diocese is also home to emerging Polish and Korean communities.
Cultural Communities
Vision Statement
Here at the Diocese of Bridgeport we envision a community where all individuals have equal opportunities to thrive and succeed, and where everyone is welcomed, and treated with dignity and respect. We see a future where the unique perspectives and experiences of diverse individuals are valued, and together, we work to pass on the faith.
By integrating this idea into all aspects of our diocese, we hope to create a sense of belonging and connection within our community. We strive to be a model guided by the teachings of Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church.
