Vietnamese Community
The Holy Vietnamese Martyrs quasi-Parish, following the example of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, will create a welcoming environment to foster a deeper understanding of our mission as followers of Christ, where we gather to worship God, aspire to learn all that is true, and share it through our interaction with our local community, our world, our youth and all the members of our parish.
Meet Our Vicar
Fr. Augustine Nguyen was born in Vietnam and immigrated to the United States at the age of 11. He graduated from high school in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and later earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Bridgeport and a master’s degree from Southern California.
After working in various fields, including serving as a manager at Lifeline Screening of America, he answered God’s call to the priesthood and was ordained in 2012.
Since then, he has served as Parochial Vicar at St. Joseph in Shelton, chaplain at Kolbe Cathedral High School, and chaplain for Western Connecticut University. He currently serves as the Parochial Vicar for the Vietnamese Catholics in the Diocese of Bridgeport.
