BRIDGEPORT—Father Andrew G. Marus, Pastor of Holy Name of Jesus Parish in Stratford, passed away on March 26, at New York Community Hospital in Brooklyn at the age of 72.

The body of Father Marus will be received at 9 am on Monday, April 2, at Holy Name of Jesus Church located at 1950 Barnum Avenue in Stratford. Calling hours will be from 9 to 11 am.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated immediately following at 11 am. Most Reverend Frank J. Caggiano will be the principal celebrant.

FAIRFIELD—Rev. John P. Baran, age 59, Pastor of St. Anthony of Padua Parish, died and entered eternal life on Saturday, March 24, 2018 in Bridgeport Hospital.

Father John was born in Derby, son of the late Andrew and Mary Bulbert Baran. Raised in Shelton, he is a graduate of St. Joseph High School, Trumbull, received his Bachelor’s of Arts degree from Fairfield University, and his Master’s of Divinity degree from St. John’s Seminary, Brighton, MA.

BRIDGEPORT— Father Louis Pintye, O.F.M., Pastor of St. Emery Parish in Fairfield ’s for 13 years from 1998 to 2011 passed into eternal life on August 20, 2017 at Mount Alverna Friary-Shrine of Our Lady, Comforter of the Afflicted in Youngstown, Ohio, after a lengthy illness.

A memorial mass was held Saturday, 11:00 AM, August 26th at St. Emery’s Church, 838 Kings Highway East, Fairfield.

NORWALK—Msgr. Joseph Kohut died on August 5 at Notre Dame Convalescent Home in Norwalk. He was 98 years old.

Joseph John Kohut was born on December 12, 1918 in Peekskill N.Y. After graduating high school he was employed as a stenographer at Standard Brands, Inc., and at Texaco. This work was interrupted by his Army service in World War II in France, Germany and Austria, for which he won the Bronze Star., and by Air Force service in the Korean War.

Sister Rosemary Sheehan, a Religious of the Sacred Heart and a well known educator, passed away suddenly on June 20.

From 1953-1956 she worked at the former Convent of the Sacred Heart girls’ school in Noroton, where she taught, worked in the infirmary and served as dormitory mistress. In 1965 Sister Sheehan began her almost 50 years of ministry at Convent of the Sacred Heart, Greenwich, twenty-two years of which she served as head of the Upper School.

WILTON—Loretta Kelly McCarthy, of Wilton, passed away peacefully in the presence of her family on June 8, 2017 at the age of 86. Kelly gave the world 6 beloved children: Laurie, Maureen, Kathleen, Christeen, Patrick and Michael, 14 treasured grandchildren and 2 great–grandchildren.
