The Safe Environments Office is dedicated to ensuring the safety of all children in our Diocese.
Bishop Caggiano has asked pastors to celebrate a local Mass of Reparation in their parishes no later than October 31, 2018. In the coming weeks, the bishop will announce additional spiritual initiatives and administrative measures to address the sexual abuse scandal in a spirit of transparency and accountability.
Every April, we commemorate Child Abuse Prevention Month to highlight the importance of protecting minors from abuse. This year, we are offering the following activities and resources to dioceses/parishes.
> Rosary for Healing and Protection | Friday April 6 2pm
> Holy Mass with Special Intentions for Victims/Survivors and the Protection of Minors | Thursday, April 12th 12pm
> Call to Prayer | Friday, April 13
The Secretariat has also created resources that dioceses and parishes can use to promote Child Abuse Prevention Month including sample social media posts, bulletin inserts, and Prayers for the Faithful.
