Holiday Update from St. Rose School

NEWTOWN—Students and faculty at St. Rose School are getting in the holiday spirit with exciting news and fun celebrations.

This past Saturday, December 19, St. Rose School celebrated the birthday of Sister Thaddeus, a very important member of the school community. She has been at St. Rose School for 19 years in various roles, first as preschool director and most recently as spiritual coordinator and religion teacher for grades 6 and 7.  She prepares the Friday liturgies, plans retreats and also guides students preparing for Baptism, Communion and Confirmation. Sister Thaddues is a steady presence among students and families, beloved by all.  On Saturday, students surprised her with a visit to the convent bearing gifts and good wishes for her birthday. Sister Thaddeus is a member of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth order.

It is a tradition at St. Rose School for preschool students to construct their own mangers. This year was no exception, as students grabbed their paintbrushes and glitter to create their own Nativity scene.

In other exciting news, St. Rose School was able to receive 32 Chromebooks via a grant. This addition gives students in grades 2-8 one-to-one to one device integration which greatly enhances learning especially during these times.
