St. Vincent’s Farmstand

BRIDGEPORT—St. Vincent’s Medical Center has announced the extension of its Farm Stand, which will be open every Tuesday from 11:30 am – 4:00 pm until November 30. Killam and Bassette Farmstead, LLC, will continue to provide a variety of fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables, as well as honey, syrup and farm-made canned items when available.

For those who participate in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), the Bridgeport Farmers Market Collaborative (BFMC) will continue to match SNAP incentives; every $1 = $2 to spend at the market. Senior and WIC checks will be redeemable through November 23. In addition, Bridgeport Bucks from the 2021 Season will be accepted, regardless of the printed expiration date.

Cooking Demo

St. Vincent’s Farm Stand will host its final healthy cooking demonstration of the season on Tuesday, November 2, at 12:00 PM, immediately in front of St. Vincent’s main entrance. Chef Raquel Rivera of A Pinch of Salt will prepare a dish using fresh produce from the market. Free samples will be available on a first-come, first-served basis and recipes will be provided to all. Chef Raquel will give cooking tips and take questions as she prepares the dish. The cooking demo is sponsored by BFMC, of which St. Vincent’s is one of seven members. The event is free and open to the public, and no registration is necessary.
