Stamford Ancient Order of Hibernian honorees

STAMFORD—The Stamford Ancient Order of Hibernian recently selected its honorees for the city’s St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, and has chosen Michael Patrick Feighan and Gerri Moore.

The two will be honored at the Irish flag-raising ceremony at the Government Center on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17. Feighan was selected by the Hibernians, Moore by the Ladies’ Hibernains.

St. Patrick’s Day celebrations will begin with a 10 am mass at the Basilica of St. John the Evangelist, followed by a short parade to the center where a formal ceremony will be held around the flag raising at 11 am according to a news release.

Feighan, the chairman of the Stamford St. Patrick’s Day Parade, was selected for his commitment to volunteer work, the release said. He has chaired the St. Patrick’s Day Parade committee for the last seven years “and has helped to make the parade the largest parade in Stamford in terms of community groups participating and number of marchers.”
