The Guild of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus hosts brunch

GEORGETOWN—The Guild of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, initiated at Solemn Vespers on The Feast of the Annunciation on March 25, had its first event—a Guild Brunch on Saturday, April 1.

The morning began with a beautiful Mass celebrated by the rector of the Sacred Heart Oratory, Father Michael Clark, with 100 worshipers attending. Following the Mass, guests attended a brunch and listened to a talk by Father Clark about the Guild and its mission to promote the Sacred Arts and evangelize through Beauty. There was a lively discussion and many questions.

Men and women came from across the diocese, from Stamford to Bridgeport to Danbury, and joyfully shared ideas as they connected with others who had similar interests, whether art, music, hospitality, architecture or literature. There was tremendous excitement and a desire to engage with the Guild and each other in order to develop pilgrimages, tours, symposiums, festivals and many other wonderful ideas.

The room was decorated with the same beautiful branches used in the sanctuary for Vespers, and more of the buds had bloomed.

It is early spring in the life of the Guild, and the sap is running as ideas, gifts and talents, some that have laid dormant, are uncovered and shared. There is a sense of new life, of awakening, of possibilities and of great joy.
