BRIDGEPORT— As the Diocese prepares for next week’s pilgrimage to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C next Saturday, September, 23, Bishop Frank J. Caggiano blesses the new “Pilgrimage Cross,” a replica of the World Youth Day Cross.
Diocesan staff gathered in the front lobby of the Catholic Center yesterday afternoon to pray with the Bishop. The Pilgrimage Cross will be traveling through the Diocese from parish to parish inviting young people to pray, and next year on the Saturday before Palm Sunday, youth from throughout the Diocese will carry this cross through the streets Bridgeport.
